About Me
June, 2019: I'm a retired teacher who is new to digital scrapbooking--I was attracted to it because it's such a great way to preserve memories without taking up physical space. I want to get rid of a lot of the "stuff" in my home that I no longer use or need. In my early twenties, I could pack everything I owned into a VW beetle. I have no idea how many beetles it would take to hold the debris of my life now, but I'd love to get to the point where my things and I could fit comfortably in about 650 sq ft.
Since retiring, I've developed a real passion for photographing birds, a hobby I always associated with old people--so, yes, I'm an old person. In any case, I've gone from not being able to distinguish a duck from a goose to being able to identify many of the birds found in southern Louisiana where I live. It's so satisfying to not only spot a new bird, but also to photograph it.
I also enjoy photographing my two grandchildren. When it comes to developing scrapbook pages, I really like it when I can pair two or more pictures up that either show one child doing the same thing at different ages, or that show the child doing something his/her mom or dad did when they were around the child's age. It's the continuity of life that interests me.
