About Me
I am a retired teacher living in rural eastern Tennessee. We moved here about 5 years ago from California. I was born and bred in California, so I guess you could call me a "California Girl" like the Beach Boys sang of, but I am a Christian and Tennessee is a better fit.
I love dogs and have a 135-pound Labrador Coonhound who I named Brinkley after the dog in one of my favorite movies "You've Got Mail". We love our daily walks in the Smokies and surrounding Appalachian Mountains.
I'm a nature lover as well. I get my creative energy and inspiration from being in the great outdoors close to God. My husband, Eric, and I plan to travel when he retires...SOON! But in the meantime, we love to pack our vintage picnic basket, throw Brinkley in the car, and just ... drive. We are spontaneous.
Fall is my favorite season. Although, it's difficult to choose just one when you live in Tennessee. All are breathtakingly beautiful. My favorite holiday is Halloween. Christmas is second.
I stumbled into Digital Scrapbooking quite by accident and fell in love. I have been keeping private journals on my computer since 1998 and when I discovered how beautiful my pages could be by adding digital art I was on a quest. I use PowerPoint to create my pages and I look forward to sharing them with this community. I have lots to share. I also recently discovered Bullet Journaling and am in the process of creating a digital version of that.
When I'm not doing digital art, I paint ... not houses but pictures. I had a business on Etsy for a while, called Misty Mountain Crafts where I sold custom baby clothing, so I sew, crochet, and knit. I also enjoy doing diamond art with my lady friends at the senior center. I did a ton of cross-stitch projects and some needlepoint as well as plastic canvas. I had drawers filled with completed kits, but a little while ago, I took them to the center and gave them all away to my friends. There are lots of other artistic mediums I enjoy but I don't want to list them all.
So, this is a good start for getting to know who I am.
