Wow, Holly! Love this alpha!!! It is sooo versatile and elegant and has one g r e a t ampersand. I think I have been a complete slacker in the newsletter department! At one point I unsubbed from every NL and see how that is working out for me: not very well. Thank you so much for the heads up! smiley

Yeah, it took me an hour to find just the perfect font for this project in my HUGE collection...but it was SOOO worth the time! It's Avondale Type Company's "ATC Rosemary", and I can see it working beautifully with a classic copperplate script for a formal subject, or with a simple handwriting font for a daily-life page, splashed with a bit of paint on an art-journal layout, mixed with a tall and skinny printed subhead for a fairly casual page, paired up with a geometric sans for a modern look, or . The diacritical characters are there to have it support most Western, Northern and Eastern European languages that use Latin-based alphabets, too. I like the ampersand, but what caught my eye first was that lowercase g; it's GORGEOUS, too, especially in combination with the hairline serifs and ball terminals on the rest of the typeface. I've got an extended license for it, and the terms don't prohibit using it for an alpha which is sold as such.

Also, bookmark this list for some more great ampersands; he's listed a bunch of gems there, with images.

You are very talented Holly!! Your works are awesome!! Also thank you for the list. I am a long time viewer of blog Spoon Graphics but never noticed this link.. I also have a very big collection of fonts. I just love to surf sites for fonts and sometime dingbat fonts as well!!

I might be just as much of a font addict as I am a graphics addict... smiley I don't think I'm that talented in comparison to some of the other ladies out there doing scrapbook design, just someplace in the middle. But I don't do it for money or fame, anyway--I design because it makes me happy and keeps me busy. Since I ended up on disability due to multiple chronic illnesses a decade ago, I've had way more time on my hands than money--and digital photography, design, and gaming are my preferred ways of filling the hours. smiley There are LOTS worse things I could be doing!

Yeah!!! Most of people today are suffering from various chronic illnesses because of lifestyle. At least surveys says this. I myself am a sufferer of hyper tension and get nervous on little problems. I just gave birth of a boy a month ago and I know how was my pregnancy time. This is my 1st baby and a little dizziness used to make me feel uncomfortable thinking that if my baby's ok!! I used to give visit to doctor every week almost. When I was in pain my hands and feet were sweaty like I just took a bath!! Thank God my hubby was careful enough and never have been rude with me. smiley
I visited your site and your blog style amazed me a lot. I bookmarked it thinking that a newbie like me maybe can learn something while looking at your works. Well creativity is something that is my life and even doctor has advised me to spend time in creative things instead of just sitting on a couch and thinking shits!! smiley
