About Me
I am a native southern Californian, but have lived in 8 states. My other interests which compete with digiscrap are photography (totally related), genealogy (sometimes related) & quilting (I even have quilt albums). So I'm never at a lack of things to do!
I've loved taking lots since getting my first SLR in 1986. Many years later I got a digital SLR and went from negs to tiny camera cards & photos on CDs. In the last few years I've gone to just using my phone w/even higher quality results. I started doing photo album scrapbooks in the mid 90s with Creative Memories & have a large cabinet of them - albums for each of my kids, family, relatives, travel, holidays, places we've lived.
Then about 7 yrs ago I started doing digital scrapbooking, having been prodded to do so by a friend. I'd resisted her arguments for awhile thinking that while she (who works with computers & is very techy) could do it, it wouldn't be for me. Once I discovered that I could actually do digital I quit doing the albums (though I need to go back & finish a few). I also scanned in all my negs (huge project, but worth it!) to my computer. I love being able to re-use the same photos multiple times & not being limited to prints. I also like being able to do more to crop & edit them, not to mention use (and re-use all kinds of digital supplies).
Until recently I had mostly used Craft Artist make my digi pages as it is very easy to work with & I could make pages in minutes. I had gotten PSE 10 but found it difficult, so only used it for the Organizer (which I love & have separate catalogs for photos & digi supplies). Then I updated to PSE 15 (just b4 18 came out, which I have no need for at this point) & decided to make myself at least be able to make pages with it. Now that I am more comfortable with it I am enjoying the ability to use its creative capabilities.
