Thanks, Robynne! I guess these days they figure that the only way to include everyone is to not let anyone have cake, it's sad. But I have enough food allergies in my extended family (including my mother) to know not to mess with them. smiley

I'm admittedly not feeling very creative today, since pregnancy plus some kind of cold/allergies thing are teaming up to completely kick my butt. But I did throw together a very basic page using Facebook post screenshots from 2 years ago. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be up to something more interesting.

I have had to arrange to get copies of a number of old photos that I had stuck in old photo albums so I didnt do a page today. I am also looking for the right background - still havent found it yet.

Hopefully tomorrow I can make 2 pages - one for today and one for tomorrow.

Because things in my life will now be getting more exciting - especially when I hit puberty!! smiley

Good luck, Robynne!

I did today's page early, since Tuesday nights aren't good for computer time with my current schedule. Thankfully, the boys were willing to watch cartoons. An Easter page from 2 years ago.

Well this is my Day 14 Layout. It should have gone up yesterday, but I had a hard time making some choices - mostly on the colours and the layout, and which photos to use - because this layout involves a major change in my life in 1976.

In 1976 my family moved to Honiara. Solomon Islands. My parents felt called to be missionaries. Photos are - top row, from the left - Chinatown, The Central market, a Hibiscus flower and a local village school. Bottom row photos from left - Honiara town centre and the first house we lived in. (we ended up living in 3 different places in Honiara during our time in that town.).

I managed to catch up today - did 2 layouts - for Day 15 (1970s) and Day 16 (1978) - both set in the Solomon Islands

@Robynne- even though it sounds like you didn't enjoy living there, it's neat that you got to live in so many different countries while growing up.

Here's my day 15, which wraps up my April 2017 backlog. Onto the next month (and the rest of April 2019, once I actually offload the photos from last week that are still on my phone!)

Day 17 - A mish mash of island culture and family photos. This is to cover the last year we lived in the Solomon islands before moving back to NZ

Day 16 for me. I managed to do two pages today, to catch up on last week's photos. One was just the usual weekly spread, and the second was from our aquarium trip last Saturday for my son's birthday.

Finally managed to finish Day 18. This one involves the family returning home to New Zealand in January 1980 and what we did along the way.

Day 17. This may be the fastest I've ever scrapped something, since we just got this ultrasound today. I was a little excited. smiley

Congratulations Becky!! Good to see your Day 17 page as well smiley

I guess you have already chosen her name. Lucy. smiley

Does that name on the journaling tag say Lucy Eowyn?

Because I can see LOTR and a name starting with E. smiley

Yes, it's going to be Lucy Eowyn. smiley

Day 18 was a bit of a bust for me, as pretty much all I've had time to do was check my last stack of printed digi layouts (that haven't made it into an actual album yet, lol) to double check on what I already scrapped. I like to do collages of some of the good but random photos of each individual kid for each month during their first year, and I guess the ones I made on Picasa (before my computer crashed last year and I lost the program) somehow didn't make it into the folder of layouts I'd already printed. But I guess that kind of counts for the project, since it is making sure I don't use my time on double scrapping the same photos, right?

Day 19 is finally up. This covers my high school years in the early 1980s.

Becky, regarding your Day 18 being a bust, It doesn't matter if you don't finish all 100 pages within the 100 days. I have heard of some people taking as much as a whole year or more to complete their 100 days project.

You just do whatever is right for you. Please do not feel pressured by me.

I am definitely trying to complete the 100 pages in 100 days - but unlike you, I am not pregnant and I dont have 2 young children to run around after (thank goodness). My son grew out of all that, ages ago!! smiley

You do whatever pages you want to do and no they don't have to be in any kind of order. Just because that is what I am doing, doesn't not mean you have to do the same. You are free to do your pages in any order you like. There are no hard and fast rules.

I hope this helps. And I apologise if you are feeling pressured by me.

Day 20 - This is the family summer vacation from January 1982. I am forced to do this page out of order because I am still waiting on a decision for my 1981 page. But that can easily be slotted in.

Don't worry, Robynne, I'm not feeling pressured by you at all! My personal goal was more just to knock out as many pages as I can within the 100 days, rather than a hundred pages, especially since I'm currently jumping around between keeping up with 2019 and catching up on 2017. But the other side of that goal was to devote a little time each day to scrapping. Like I said, at this point, I'm willing to count revisiting the old collage pages as research. After all, it's a holiday weekend. smiley

Off to work on day 19!

Edit to add: No finished pages for today, but I did go through about a month's worth of photos, and got all of the ones I want to use inserted into several different templates (5 total). So hopefully this will speed up the process for getting several pages done soon!

Day 21 - 1985 - the year I turned 21. I am using the Space explorers kit because by now I had discovered and had fallen in love with Star Trek and I am still a Star Trek fan. I am not a huge trekkie. I dont have any of the costumes, but I do watch the movies, and read the books and novels. Except for the most recent Star Trek TV series Discovery which I really did not like.

In 1985 I was watching Star Trek (the original series aka TOS) in reruns and then in 1987 I was watching the first run of Star Trek, The Next Generation (aka STTNG). TNG is naturally my most favourite, because it is the first, first run Star trek series that I was able to watch!!

I was never much of a Trekkie myself, although one of my best friends is pretty into it and I remember my dad and brother watching Next Gen when I was growing up. As far as sci fi goes, I tend to enjoy Star Wars more, as well as the shows that don't take themselves quite as seriously. (Stargate was a definite favorite, although I didn't care much for Stargate Universe. I do miss SG-1 and Atlantis, though.)

Here's my day 20. I'm starting on May 2017, minus the one month old pages I already did for the younger boy. Since I sorted all the photos into templates last night, 4 layouts to go for that one. This one was Mother's Day for that year.

Also, for the backlog, I may stick with choosing all of the photos I want to scrap from each month/making the basic layouts at once, because I kind of like how that streamlined the process! Especially knowing that if all goes well this week, I should still be able to get last week's photos done before this week is over.

I am actually a huge fan of both Stargate and Atlantis as well. I too did not like Stargate universe. smiley

I cannot do a streamlined process and plan several pages in advance. Partly because I dont have a lot of photos (not true - I have tons of photos), but they are stuck in photo albums and are NOT scanned in.

Also I feel that each page needs to be done on an individual basis hence a different kit for each page.

And once again. I am reminding everyone that I am not a "frilly or flowery" person so I don't like embellishing my pages with flowers (unless the page warrents them) because I feel that they are somewhat unnecessary.

Non-flowery embellishments may sometimes show up, but only if they help make the page look better.

Day 22 - The 1981 Rugby tour that divided the nation!!!

I apologise if this page offends anyone - especially to anyone from South Africa. It was simply made to record an event in history.

And for the record my next page will be recording an event that happened in 1985 which involves the country of France. I also want to apologise to anyone from France who may be offended.

I should also mention that there may be some criticism of the United States government in tomorrows page as well. This was during President Ronald Reagans administration. Again I am simply making a record of this event for history.

Back when I was paper scrapping, I had pretty involved lists of pages I needed to make, based on the photos I had. And I'd package them up with the papers I wanted to use so I could just binge scrap a bunch of things at once. I actually still have some set aside like that, from the last batch of photos that I printed. I should probably actually get those into my album... smiley

Anyway, here's today's, from what I believe was both boys' first hike. (A very short, flat, boardwalk trail, but still. They were both under 2 at the time.)

Day 23 - A terrorist bombing attack in NZ - the first one ever - that I know of. The Rainbow Warrior Bombing in July 1985.

It's interesting how you're including national historic events in your album, Robynne. Especially since NZ history is not something I know much about, and I tend to stick with the personal pages. But this will be a great record of how these events impacted your life.

Here's my day 22. More pics of my boys being cute from around 2 years ago.

Hi Becky, Yes I love history - and major events like these did impact my life. How that happens will be explained soon.

Day 24 - Leaving Home - aka Moving On

Day 23: some miscellaneous May 2017 photos.

Day 25 West Auckland. Nothing much happened - I was too busy settling into a new city, working and getting to know my way around Auckland. I also used another template. This one has nice bright colours!!!!

I do like the colors, Robynne! smiley

I did just a little work on a monthly divider page yesterday, as I've been dealing with a somewhat sick kid for the last couple of days. I'm hoping to have a little more time later today.

Day 26 - 1989 the year of revolution - and yes if you havent worked out already - I do follow politics and world events. I dont get involved - much - but I do follow it. This was also the year I turned 25 but no birthday party for me.... smiley

Day 27 - The 1990 Commonwealth Games - very successful international sporting event for NZ held in Auckland. Sadly the year ended on a very Low note indeed. The Aramoana Massacre.
