A little look back
I was recently browsing around our Flickr account, where we keep all our photos and also I keep copies of my layouts. I keep them in albums by year and I was shocked to discover that there are now 6 albums, which means I've been doing this digital scrapbooking thing for 6 years!
Honestly, I still feel like digital scrapbooking is something I've just discovered and started doing, and hardly something I have years of experience in. And the years I've spent doing digital will soon surpass the years I spent with paper.
This post doesn't have much of a point, but I was so shocked by my discovery that I had to share it here. How long have you been digi scrapping?

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

I converted to digital in 2005. I taught craft classes in the chat room at 3 Scrapateers. I was trying to show how versatile digital kits could be by making cards, recipe cards and holders, post it note holders and on and on. i had never even hosted a chat before and my first class 98 signed in. I didn't know whether to cry or run, but I stayed and we had so much fun. LOL I was, also, on their CT. It''s amazing to look at the older kits compared to the kits being designed today and how far digital scrapping has advanced. Your layouts brought back lots of memories for me, Marisa. I gave it all up in August of 2006 when I had a hip joint replaced followed by a knee joint and back surgery over the next two years. It's been a long rough spell, but I think I am finally ready to get back into scrapping.
Marisa - thanks!! It was driving me nuts recognizing them but not knowing what they were. =D
@Sarah: It's the Julep Kit by Gennifer Bursett.
What a fun post! I really enjoyed seeing all your layouts & how they've changed (& not changed) over the years. Question - I love the papers & cards you used in the 2014 layout. What are they? They look really familiar but I can't place them!
What a beautiful way to leave memories
I've been at it for just about a year now! I love your sweet tooth and wind & sky pages btw! :)
I never thought I would be into the scrapbooking world. At first, the traditional scrapbooking wasn't my thing until I discovered that the digital scrapbook was the perfect one for me! Started digiscrapping since 2008! I've done about 15 books so far! Definitely my investment's the worth!
I discovered digiscrapping in 2010. I'm a teacher and I am fond of making pretty worksheets: adding patterned backgrounds, borders and elements to my worksheets. I was basically making a layout with my lessons but didn't know it until later. =)
BTW, i like your 2010 layout there.
I actually started digi scrapping in 2003. I was making a scrapbook for my mom of her family and came across a digi site while searching for a tree image to use in the book. I was SO excited and finished the book digitally and never looked back! It took me 10 years to get rid of the massive stash of paper scrapping stuff but I finally did and have never been sorry.
Did my first digital book in 2007 with Creative Memories software (now Artisan), which is/was pretty awesome for someone just getting into it. Photoshop is my preference now, and I've done only 5 complete books since that first one, but have done a ton of pages in the last year, which will go into several different books, thanks to the unending inspiration here at Pixelscrapper! Thank you Marisa. Don't know where you get all your ideas, but don't stop. :-)
Awesome... Do you find when you look at older pages you wish you had done things different...
Wow, Marisa - 6 years! I've only done 11 layouts since I started earlier this year! :/
I wonder how many layouts you've done in those 6 years? By the way, I really love your 2012 layout - it's very arty and unusual :)
Time flies! Thanks for sharing your talents with us!
