Digital Scrapbooking Travel Album - Malaysia

I have been working through all the photos from the year that Jordan and I backpacked around the world and finishing albums for all the countries we visited. Even though I was digital scrapbooking at the time, looking back at my layouts now they often feel incomplete and not my style. So I'm both adding in lots of new photos to finish these albums, and redoing many of my old layouts so I can include them. I do hope to get these printed eventually. This is Country #4, you can see Country #1: Taiwan, Country #2: Vietnam, and Country #3: Cambodia.

My scrapbooking goals for 2022 include working on my clustering and also trying out some minimal style layouts. Layering papers is my natural tendency, so both of these styles take a some effort and practice on my part. With this first layout, I'm trying to work in more elements, but I always end up with a little cluster here and a little cluster there. What I really want to master is elements everywhere, which some people can pull off.

Redoing all these travel layouts is giving me lots of material to work with and practice my style goals for 2022.

I do the same thing with my big photos or sometimes put them all the way to the edges and then just scrap that tiny little fifth not filled it. I love that you are redoing your photos. I'm struggling keeping up with my goals, thank you for the inspiration.

@Susan: I intersperse large photos in the album. I don't enjoy scrapping large photos, so I compromise by doing the scrapping I like with the less "good" photos and then using the best photos as full page spreads in the album.

Love to see how you visualise your travel memories! Personally I would use more space for the photos (bigger size), but maybe it is because the quality of old pictures, or it's just your own style of digital scrapbooking. Your creations are inspirational, that's for sure! *heart*

I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!

I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!

If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
