My New Macro Lens
One thing I really wanted for my birthday was a macro lens for my camera phone. I love taking macro photos, particularly of flowers, and when I heard that they made clip on lenses for smart phones, I decided I couldn't really live without it. The lens I got is not anything serious, but fun to play around with. It's basically like attaching a magnifying glass to your phone. It's a little tricky to get the angle just right, since you have to move around to get the focus right. I haven't played around with it too much, but these are some fun shots I got with some street flowers in Newport, OR.

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

Now I want one!
This one is also awesome. It just snaps like a rubber band over your iPhone.

Just FYI...there's a Groupon for something similar! :) http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-aduro-3-piece-camera-lens-kit-for-apple-iphones-1?p=1&utm_source=pc_goods&utm_medium=ema...
Hi Marisa, I just got one also. It's so much fun! The biggest problem I've had is when I put my case back on, it knocks the magnet off.
Awesome photos! I hope you share more photos with us as you get the hang of your new toy :)
Great photos. I love my camera macro lens.
What a fun thing! You're doing great with it.
That's amazing. I didn't even realize they made these fun tools. I really like how they all came out but the wings on the bee came out beautiful.
On a side note, I have those, too! Carry it around in my purse and never remember to pull it out! LOL! Thanks for the reminder!
All cool, but my fave is the shimmery bee! :)
Wow, Those Pics are amazing. Jus simple things, but so beautiful up close.
Great Pics! I didn't even know they made lenses for phones!
Very nice! I am amazed how well the clip-on lens works.
these are stunning! well done
Great shots! I love the yellow flower. I have a friend on Facebook that uses one called Olloclip. These macros are just amazing. I have a feeling you have opened up a whole new world for you.
Какое чудо !!!!!! Завораживающие фотографии !!!!!
didn't know there were special lens for camera phones! Does a great job.
Those came out great
Wow- these are gorgeous. Inspirational in fact.
Neat Marisa!!
Happy birthday sweetie!!
LOVE !!! :)
So beautiful! Have lots of fun with it!
Awesome! My friend also had an extra lens attached to her smartphone and I decided to get my hands on that one as soon as I got the chance to actually being able to purchase it but this one is definitely much prettier on the result, so I guess I should just wait a little bit longer.
Beautiful flowers. Gotta have this lens.
Wow.. Thanks for introducting me to this macro len. I gotta shop around!!
Love these! I have a macro lens for my smart phone but I really struggle with it. If I keep working with it, maybe I'll get photos like yours :-)
Lovely Marisa - I have a macro for my SLR and I love it though it often needs a tripod for a good shot and I can never be bothered to set it up LOL!! I end up with millions of shots of bees on various flowers :)
That is an awesome gift. Like you I love macrophotography, I could send hours photographing flowers in macro. I don't have a phone macro lens or dslr lens either, but I invested in extension tubes for my dslr and I'm so happy I didn't wait till I can afford a macro lens. I use these tubes even with my baby lens. It's just an amazing tool.
Great photos and goregous flowers. It's like you could pluck them from the ground through the photo.
This maybe a dumb question but what is macros photography?
That's fun! You can also use it for scrapping flowers!
What a really great gadget Marisa and the photos are beautiful. Looking forward to some more of these. I love macro photography. I need to get myself a lens for my camera or maybe even use the old one I have. What a great inspiration to get me moving. Thanks
These are great! I didn't know there was such a thing! I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the ideas!
Divine Marisa! You've inspired me to actually use mine now!
Pure awesomeness! (My next lens will be a macro as well but for my Canon 6D. I don't have a smart phone. Mine is a dumb ol' flip phone--and yes it still works. :-)
