New: Palestine Bundle
A little over a year ago Jordan and I were able to join Jordan's father, Doug, on a trip to Israel and the West Bank. Doug helps lead a three-week study abroad class for a university in the States called "Leaders for Change", which travels to Jordan and Israel, and they let us tag along.
For part of the trip we stayed in Bethlehem (which is in the West Bank) with a Palestinian family.
It was close enough to Christmas time that places were still decorated.
Since we were traveling with a class, we were able to meet with a lot of people on both sides of the conflict--and a lot of people who are working for peace--and hear their stories about living in a land so divided. It wasn't an easy time, as the pain and suffering goes deep and there are no easy solutions. But we were also blessed to meet with people of hope working towards peace despite the odds being stacked against them. We experienced futility and despair, but also hope, peace and love, which was truly remarkable.
My layouts for this project turned our more personal than usual, a result of the intense, thought provoking trip. I hope you don't mind this little bit of catharsis.

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

Memories for more than a scarp kit....how lovely to see all of this in person!
What a great bundle. I love everything about it: colors, inspiration, etc.
What an amazing experience, and this is my FAVORITE bundle yet!
Lovely layouts and beautiful kit!
My husband declared, "I'm done traveling!" after the 911 disaster, but, Friday night, in the comfort of the hot tub with our 'just about out of the nest, nearly grown daughter' he was heard by both of us (witness lol ) he would like to go to Israle and Egypt. I'm looking for our dusty passports. lol Your pix are be you ta full ! xoxoox Beth
Marisa, this was beautiful and special!! I remember going to Palestine, it was amazing to see where Jesus was born. It's now a church, but there are 3 churches (or 2, I can't remember now?) built right next to each other for the different faiths. You documented your trip with style and thoughfulness.
I don't have a bucket list but if I did I would have go to Israel, especially Jerusalem, in the top ten. I alway look at others experiences there with so much awe and interest. Marisa, your album, which I'm sure can not fully capture your experience, is absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for sharing. The elements and papers in this bundle are beautiful. The colors are impecable. I am looking forward to using them, they are already downloaded!
Such a beautiful album, i love it! Thanx so much for sharing your story with us. =)
Beautiful colors for the kit. I love your pictures. It looks kind of depressing there though. Thank you for sharing your pictures and travel with us. It is so interesting.
Beautiful colors!
beautiful kit!
I agree, this set is beautiful and the style and colors are powerful.
Wow! This is a stunning set.
Wow I agree with the other comment...I love this style and the colors are beautiful!! I can imagine how emotional this trip must have been for you all.
i'm not religious, but yet for some reason that's always been a place I've dreamed of traveling to, I guess because of all the history and rich culture. This kit is absolutely beautiful!
Marisa, what a intense time. I like the way it reflects on scrapbooking - there are unusual colors and style for you. And, I have to say, I loved everything in it. Palestine kit is a must have! It´s perfect!
