Settling In

It seems like forever since we left Amman, Jordan, our home of two years; although it's really been just two months. But since leaving we visited lots of places and saw lots of old friends. We are finally now settling down into our new home in Corvallis, Oregon.

Today our office should hopefully be up and running, and then there's just the rest of the house to move into! It will be a somewhat long process as we have to first sort and move out the belongings of Jordan's late grandmother, and then hopefully move our own in. It's an overwhelming process, especially when it's combined with our other goals of running this site and trying to adjust to life in a new city.

But we had a great summer; action packed! Here are a few memories from the last two months:

Quiet moments in the Lake District, England

Five years later, we finally return to the States.

We took the driving test not once, but twice, in two different states.

Reflection on Lake Superior, MN

Mile high in Denver.

Great family time in Colorado.

And super fun zip-lining adventure.

And finally some relaxing time on the Oregon Coast.

Beautiful photos, I love the one of Jordon looking like he can walk on water, and the shot of the tree overlooking the mountains of the lake district, the one of the Oregon coast and the two of you on the zip-line. I must admit I am a bit envious of all your travels, but I am thrilled for you that you have been able to travel especially when you are young enough to truly enjoy it.

Good luck with the unpacking and settling in!! Lovely photos. My summer has been hectic but nice with lots of family coming to stay. We can't go anywhere due to our aged, beloved, disabled dog plus my husband was out of work for almost all of this year so we have finances to rebuild LOL Anyway, since we moved out of London - 3 years ago now - our village life feels like a full time holiday :) Have fun!

Your pics from the OR coast are just beautiful! I think I need to road trip up there. Good luck with continuing to settle in! Although I, like Tiffany still have a few full moving boxes from when we moved in over two years ago. They just sit in the closet, I rarely need anything from them so I figured its best they stay put. :)

About Me

Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!

I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!

I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!

If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
