Throwback Thursday #4

After a long stretch of rain and clouds, yesterday the sky cleared up, the sun came out and the temperature dropped considerably. Woke up this morning to a very cold house, but the sun is still out so I guess that's a consolation.

We're in the midst of a big push, trying to get various things finished before out-of-town family starts arriving on Saturday for Thanksgiving festivities. Yesterday I made a practice round of mashed potatoes for a party. I feel pretty confident about mashed potatoes now. It's nice to feel like something from the Thanksgiving menu isn't a mystery.

The cookie jar is empty, and the house is cold, so that's a perfect combination for a little afternoon baking!

As promised in the title of this post, it is Throwback Thursday, and it's fun to remember that just a year ago I was enjoying the sunny desert in Egypt! Speaking of traveling, have you seen the new map feature on Pinterest? I'm sure I'll be making my own map soon. It seems like a cool, new way to look at pins, and I'm starting to think of new pin boards to take advantage. What do you imagine using it for?

LOL had to laugh at your "mash" comment. I know how you feel - I had to do Christmas dinner for the family last year for the first time. I am 50 and we have always gone to my parents for Christmas dinner and my Mum has always done it. I was petrified of my first turkey. It was all good though and I'm doing it again this year! Have fun!
