Tomorrow it's October
The rain has stopped for about the first time in a week, and I'm wondering how long the sun will last. I guess that's life in Oregon...although I'm not really feeling an expert on that. Every time I go outside I'm still shocked that there are so many trees. And they are so green. The grass, not surprisingly, is also green and about as tall as me. Amazing what water can do.
My new smartphone/photography habits/life is confusing my once solid photo editing/uploading process. It was a bit easier to keep track of things when my camera wasn't automatically uploading things to the internet for me. Now I'm confused about when to tag things, when to upload them and where to upload them...If anyone has any tips on organizing camera phone photos, I'm all ears.
Did I mention that we have a new animal friend? His name is Simon and he's a friendly grump.
Here is the friendly grump keeping me comfortable as I sit in my new craft closet trying out a new hobby (art journaling). The jury is still out on if I will become a success.
Also, perhaps my biggest accomplishment since coming back to the States is that I run around now, literally, which is something of a miracle. This morning I ran 2.5 miles, in the rain. In a million years, that's not something I thought I'd do. Does that even sound fun? At least I have hot pink shoelaces.
There are so many big and exciting things coming up at DigitalScrapbook.com this month, I can't even keep them all straight. Tomorrow we start our big Layout Challenge month. I'm super excited about this. I've committed to making 21 layouts myself, and I can hardly wait. It's been a long time since I've worked regularly at making layouts and I can hardly wait to get back to it. I've got tons of super fun prompts coming, so make your goal and join us!
Later this week DigitalScrapbook.com will celebrate it's first birthday! And we're going to party! Stay tuned. Also, we'll be announcing our FOURTH designer. Can hardly wait for that one too!
Lastly, just a reminder that we haven't turned off our subscription sale yet, so you can still subscribe for half-price! If you're still on the fence, time is seriously limited at this point, so grab that deal while you can!
PS: Please be my friend on Instagram. I'm obsessed and would like to share these feelings with more people. Leave a comment on one of my photos that your from DigitalScrapbook.com, so I can be sure to follow you back.

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

Thanks for posting about your life! I truly enjoyed it!
I hope you don´t suffer that much in winter as I do. When I was a teenager I spent some years in tropical lands and, when I came back to "my" town, I could never stand the cold anymore :) glad it´s spring here, although "the weather was cool and rainy" would totally describe my last week too!
So excited to know who will be our fourth designer. I have a guess, but who knows if I´m right or wrong?
I love your teacup!!! That could inspire a whole kit in itself!!
Nice post! I can't wait to know who the fourth designer is!! I like the first picture and I like the one with the shoes. Heck, I like them all..:-)
Love the little snippet into your life! And good for you for running! For me, running is still in a conceptual stage. :)
So fun to see a slice of your life. Gotta love a friendly grumpy kitty (we've had more than one of those). Great photos as well...love the colors in that tea cup!
What a fun post! I enjoy reading about your adjustments back to the states. And the photo of your shoes, rain and fall leaves is really cool!
