September 2023 Digital Scrapbooking Update

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 11/15/2023 - 22:00

I am feeling quite surprised that I have kept up with my daily scrapbooking for the entire year. I don't actually do it daily, I'll play catch up every couple of days. But it is really satisfying and fun to look back through the pages and see our year evolve. Especially a year like this with so much change. It's shocking to look back at the beginning of the year and see we were still living in Mexico! But even if you're not changing locations as frequently as we do, I think it can be surprising to see how much little things change throughout the year.

August 2023 Digital Scrapbooking Update

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 10/18/2023 - 23:00

After spending some time in Upstate New York, we are spending a couple weeks in the countryside of Quebec, enjoying the fall colors and cooler weather. It felt like summer when we got here and now it's definitely feeling more like winter. I had to buy the kids winter hats today! If you are Canadian could you tell me what you are doing with the milk in a bag? Is there an official pitcher we are supposed to have? And is there a trick for pouring it? We are loving being surrounded by French. Neither of us speak it, but it's fun to hear.

A short month, but a good one! February saw us back home after many months out and about. Luckily I had my old pocket pages to remind me what we used to get up to when at home!

December 2015 in Pockets + All of 2015

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 02/10/2016 - 00:00

I have done it! I have finished my year in pockets! I am very pleased to have made it an entire year, and even more to have discovered it to be a versatile and helpful format. Helpful, since if you're lacking inspiration, there's a sturdy structure to fall back on. Versatile, because with the constraints comes the wonderful opportunity to work around them. Looking back through the year I am somewhat shocked how my pages changed. I'm not sure why this is shocking, as that's generally the natural progression of things.

Another month done, only two more to go!

July 2015 Pocket Pages

By Marisa Lerin Thu, 09/10/2015 - 00:00

July was a bit lighter on the layouts than previous months, and I also enjoyed making a few more regular layouts. Being able to mix the pocket pages and the regular layouts really helps keep things fresh when trying to stay on top of documenting an entire year. If I'm feeling lazy, I can just stick everything in the pocket space, and when that gets boring I can use the entire 12x12 space to do whatever I want.

It's only the middle of August and I've caught up with my June pocket pages. I'm feeling pretty good about that. June was a busy month: family time, birthdays, weddings...And now it's all in the scrapbook!
