2014 Snapshot
A year later and I'm right back where I started. 2014 began by spending a month at the Oregon coast, which was definitely a highlight of the year. So much so, that a year later we're back. After some serious holiday party time it's been really nice to just be in the peace and quiet of the coast. One of my hopes this month is to spend some time putting 2014 to rest and getting ready for 2015. To do that, I first need to remember what even happened in 2014...
January
The month at the coast was lovely, but started a several month designer crisis for me. It all began with my inability to make a coastal bundle (see attempt 1 and attempt 2) that matched something particular in head. I never did get it right, and now that I'm back out here, I feel the pull towards that elusive something.
On the flipside to my designer problems, I completed two layout travel projects, making over 100 layouts in the month of January.
Spring
We got out and about in Oregon a bit in the spring, enjoying a range from snow covered Crater Lake to beautiful cherry blossom blooms in Salem.
I also finished another layout project:
Road Trip and Cruise
The end of May took us to the East Coast and back again in our mini van. The destination was my brother-in-law's graduation from the Coast Guard Academy. Jordan's parents also took us all on a celebratory cruise.
Summer
We stuck around home for most of the summer. Said goodbye to our roommate, Jordan's sister, as she made her way to Kenya. We also had a visit from a college friend and showed her the sites of Oregon. But otherwise I spent the days waiting for the sun to go down and spending the dusk and evening sitting in the garden.
Fall
There didn't seem to be much of a fall this year. I remember it being hot and then it being cold. We took a spontaneous trip to San Francisco to see where Jordan's brother moved after graduating. We also enjoyed visiting the Wildlife Safari in southern Oregon.
Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving we got to visit my recently relocated parents in Memphis. Besides being with family, the highlight was definitely visiting the panda at the zoo.
Christmas
Christmas found us back out at the coast with Jordan's family, playing lot of board games and taking walks on the beach.
It was a great year with lots of adventures. Hoping the next one is as fun!

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
