5 Ways to Improve Your Digital Scrapbooking Skills

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 06/21/2023 - 23:00

It's easy to get in a rut or feel like you are making the same layout over and over. I thought it might be helpful to come up with a short list of ideas that could help inspire your layout making and possibly teach you something new as well.

Creating Layouts with Lots of Photos

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 05/24/2023 - 23:00

How many photos do you usually include in your layout? When I'm making a layout I'm usually including one or two photos, unless it's my pocket pages, in which case I'm including lots of photos every time. Pocket scrapping is a great way to include a lot of photos on one layout, but if you don't want to go the pocket route, here's a bit of inspiration to keep you going.

Using Color Theory to Create Harmonious Digital Scrapbook Pages

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 03/29/2023 - 23:00

I am obsessed with color. I have very strong reactions to different colors, some add lots of stress to my life and some are so pretty I want to eat them (and they probably aren't the colors you're thinking of*). As a designer I love working with different colors and putting them together to see how they look together. Some color combinations are a creativity super boost and some will instantly halt a project. Why this happens seems to be mostly some sort of color magic, although color theory does exist, so I thought I would take a minute to look into it for digital scrapbooking.

Using a quick page is an easy way to create a digital scrapbooking page quickly, because most of the work is done for you. In fact, if you choose the PNG version of the quick page all you have to do is add your photos.

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 01/20/2021 - 22:00

I am quite lazy about a lot of things and one thing I will hardly ever do is take the time to add a digital scrapbook alpha to my layout. This seems excessively time consuming to me and also then I have to come up with a title. However, if you want your title to look cool but don't want to take the time to include an alpha, there's actually a great option for adding a little customization without too much effort: Photoshop Layer Styles.
